The town of Genoa to change transport policy

WWF-AMT Crisis: The responsibilities of the company and the most serious of the City

If Genoa Italy's most expensive ticket and a service from year to year becomes more and more poor and between breve ancora più inadeguato alle esigenze dei cittadini è solo colpa di AMT?
Se il bus non riesce a passare dove la corsia c'è perché il Comune ha deciso di mettere un parcheggio sulla corsia stessa rendendo lane unusable for many hours each day, the responsibility is clearly not the AMT, but the municipality.
If the traffic controller constantly penalizes transit public transport forcing citizens to stop needless waste of time sufficient to deter the use of public transport, is certainly not the fault of AMT, but the City.
E 'the city that has the power and duty to make choices that favor public transport and protect the thousands and thousands of citizens who use it daily.
The City is not the friend of the citizens if it is not the right choices that would for many people, for workers' AMT and the welfare of the whole city, including public transport so people do not use it. If the AMT crisis has now arrived at the most severe ever reached so far is because of government cuts the knots of years of indifference and wrong choices have come home to roost.
It 'realization of the lane over Europe that the municipality no longer has made a' concrete action to improve the lives of citizens who use public transport and thus improve the mobility of the city. Since then every little action (daily management of traffic, traffic controller, not creation or elimination of the yellow lane) and great intervention (traffic plans, sale of real estate and sale of remittances) made by the City Council has done nothing but worsen the service and increase costs and to pay the bill were always passengers and workers.
This administration has not proved to be better than not placing itself above even the objective of increasing bus speeds, which is crucial for reducing the cost of the service, continuing the policy implementation parking downtown and reopened to traffic as Brignole spaces that were reserved for public transport and pedestrians.

The City does not discharge directly or indirectly on AMT blame her, because even the privatization of municipal AMT was a choice, as well as the choices of the leadership, as the leadership is largely political appointees.
The City "there is" really , and make the right choices first:
- with a traffic management system that favors public transportation;
- with land use decisions that encourage the use of private vehicles;
- with policies that allow resource recovery.

THE WWF Liguria supports the rationale of the workers' AMT because they are not the only reasons for the citizens who use public transportation, but also those of all the city.
